The Executive Board of the Reitz Junior Classical League consists of the club sponsor, all IJCL officers from Francis J. Reitz H.S., and the local officers listed below. The Executive Board uses the Helen Wampler Spirit Award form to guide them in planning club activities. The executive officers MUST meet together every other week after school to report on the progress of their projects. All officers must make arrangements to attend their required meetings! All officers are expected to attend full club meetings and other RJCL events!
President
Create agenda for officer meetings and club meetings.
Send chapter news to the IJCL editor for the Veritas et Scientia.
Conduct club meetings.
Appoint and monitor committees to work on publicity/recruitment events such as open house, 8th grade orientation night, etc
Appoint and monitor committees to work on social activities, including educational games/activities at every club meeting.
Write thank you notes and any other correspondence.
Lead chapter fellowships at State Convention.
Submit the club state T-shirt at IJCL State convention.
N.B. Because this office requires strong leadership skills and experience in the club, preference is given to sophomores and above.
Vice President
Plan, implement, and document community service.
Plan a major service project and complete the Sharon Gibson Community Service Award form about it.
Plan Indiana Latin Week (including submitting pictures/information to IJCL 2nd VP), National Classics Week, and Fourth of July parade with the help of committees.
Work with other committees to integrate publicity opportunities.
Document publicity projects & submit binder for state and national contests.
Secretary
Keep accurate records for fundraisers and manage supplies/materials.
Take attendance at all meetings and activities & submit to the sponsor.
Manage and run the bazaar at Fall Latin Day, State Convention, and National Convention.
Takes the minutes of all meetings and state Fellowship.
Sends minutes to the Executive Board for approval.
Sends a copy of all minutes to the webmaster, after approval.
Sends membership cards and certificates to RJCL delegates.
Webmaster
Maintains the RJCL website.
Solicits information from other officers and sponsor.
Updates the RJCL addresses.
Updates content every two weeks.
Enters the website into state contest.
Historian
Plans and prepares a scrapbook of chapter events from state convention until the next.
Is responsible for collecting memorabilia at state and national convention and on the bus trip.
Solicits contributions from the delegates for the chapter scrapbook.
